Georgia Hooper – The Automotive Expert

National Sales Manager for Automotive Aftercare, Georgia has been in the industry for seven years. She started when the department was still in its infancy, saw its growth potential and expanded it from there.

Today, her accounts cover almost 90% of the UK’s Automotive Aftercare market. Not only does she know everything there is to know about her sector, she’s also creative in pushing boundaries to introduce products and delivery frameworks that remain relevant for her customers.

She enjoys the job because of the challenge it presents in working with her customers to add value to and develop their business. In that way, she acts as an industry consultant to provide growth across the sector, not just for Polyco Healthline.
Her specialty within her role is product portfolio introduction. Knowing all the options available, she’s perfectly positioned to introduce new or alternative products and increase her clients’ business.

This even includes products that she brought to market herself. Her passion prompted her to take a risk on an initial £1 million container shipment of a disposable glove that she believed would provide all-day wear and the best grip in oily conditions. The glove Georgia introduced? The Finite Orange HD – one of our most successful disposable gloves ever.

So Georgia, what questions are you asked most frequently?

“How can I increase my sales in the automotive aftermarket?”

What questions do you wish were asked more frequently?

None really, but if there are others, I’ll know the answer.

What do you feel is the biggest problem within the health and safety industry?

Encouraging people to wear gloves is still an issue. And my solution is education. For example, if you’re performing a certain task using chemicals, you need a chemical resistant glove.

How do Polyco Healthline’s products and/or services address that problem?

It’s all about introducing the right product for the specific purpose – the end user will always benefit. And, although our bottom line benefits if you buy something more experience, it’s Polyco Healthline policy only ever to recommend products that you really need.

I’ve been working in the sector for the last seven years – there's a reason why I’m recommending it. And I’d never recommend it just make a sale.

What future technology will have the greatest impact on your industry specialism?

Hybrid and electric vehicles are a reality today. To make sure we cater for this growing portion of the market, we supply electricians’ gloves to offer the highest level of electrical protection available. This hand protection will see increasing adoption in the future as we move away from petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles.

Why are you proud to sell Polyco Healthline products and services?

I’m proud to sell our products because I strongly believe in them and we can provide everything the customer needs. What project are you most excited about at the moment?

I’m most excited about the rapid development of our trade programmes. These are specially designed to help customers have peace of mind when it comes to delivering products to their customers. We partner together and deliver:
