Research and Development

At Polyco Healthline, we're always searching for new and innovative technologies that bring added benefits, functionality or value to our products.

You might be surprised. But maintaining industry leadership means we actively seek to work with others. For example, the University of Sussex, Nottingham Trent and other academic companies have Polyco Healthline sponsored PhD students and researchers – some of the freshest minds in the country. We also collaborate with research organisations like PERA and PA Consulting. And we connect across geographic borders and industry divides to harness the latest tech advances applicable to our own manufacturing processes.

Our approach works. Here are a few examples:

SafeDon™

SafeDon™

SafeDon is a perfect example of how the simplest ideas are often the best.

To be able to take only one glove, always presented cuff-first from a dispenser provides obvious benefits to those who use disposable gloves to prevent cross contamination. But achieving this in a mass-produced and economical way is the challenging part.

After many years of development, and using expertise from several different industries, we have been able to create a product which we believe will set a new standard for all disposable gloves. In short, a game changer.

This packaging technique offers improved hygiene, convenience in dispensing and reduced wastage. And it will lead to improved efficiencies in every environment it is used in. We are now launching the next generation of this product, using manufacturing improvements that enhance the economics of the product further.
